The Scheme

The Commercial Graduate Development Scheme is designed to give you a sample of both Sales and Marketing, leaving you with the broad skill set you need to fast-track your Commercial career at RB. Specifically, rotations can expose you to the following areas:

Field Sales

As part of your first rotation, you’ll be assigned a territory and form external customer relationships through regular store visits. You’ll optimize distribution, merchandising and promotions of our products in accordance with the 4P objectives. You’ll co-ordinate and report on Reckitt Benckiser performance with respect to the customer agreement (in areas such as order delivery, invoicing/accounts receivables, displays and promotions). You’ll also make regular visits to individual stores/retail outlets in order to; check displays, take orders, sell displays, sell in 4P concepts, maintenance of 4P execution.

National Accounts

Here you’ll have full accountability for developing the strategic plan for your account to not only hit but exceed net revenue, gross margin and net working capital targets for your account portfolio. You’ll provide financial analysis, ensuring you have the ability to activate levers against the P&L. To that end, you will have full ownership of the P&L ‘from top to bottom’. You will Influence and manage key stakeholders to deliver account 4P targets including distribution drives, NPD launches, promotional plan, price increases and overseeing range reviews.

Trade Marketing

Here you’ll drive the Category growth strategy and define the RB go-to-market strategy across the 4Ps (Product, Placement, Price and Promotion) for your particular portfolio as led by shopper and consumer insight. You’ll develop short and long term category strategies based on a thorough understanding of market conditions and trends while championing new product market entry and execution. You will have high levels of involvement across account commercial teams and the Senior Management Team at both a local and global level.


Here you’ll be responsible for delivering key marketing activities and financial growth objectives for your assigned brands or brand segment. You’ll be instrumental in supporting cross-functional teams to develop and execute new below the line campaigns, packaging and art-works, trade and consumer promotions, and of course, for achieving great growth on your brand.
